Namrata’s vision is that of a global aesthetic. Her clothing easily translates acrossgeographies and other artificial constructs such as age, race and point of view. The Joshipura line fuses contemporary silhouettes with modern interpretations of artisanal embellishments.
Namrata, a NIFT graduate, launched her clothing line in India in 1996 under the "Namrata Joshipura" label. Her clothes are retailed in India at her two own stores: The Crescent (Delhi) and D7 (Mumbai). She also sells to a exclusive list of retailers across India: Evoluzione (Chennai and Bangalore), Elahe (Hyderabad), Aza (Mumbai), Hot Pink (Jaipur) and White (Delhi).
Internationally the clothes are sold at Bon Marche (Paris), Sauce (Dubai), American Rag (Los Angeles) and Beams (Japan), to name a few.
She splits her time between New York and New Delhi. This dual existence has informed and inspired her work.
